Version: 2.1 Description HP StorageWorks SmartStart EVA Storage is an application that helps you install software programs and drivers and configure an HP StorageWorks 4400 Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA4400) storage system. HP StorageWorks Command View 8.0.1 is included in HP SmartStart EVA Storage 2.1. These release notes contain information specific to HP SmartStart EVA Storage 2.1. NOTE: See HP StorageWorks Command View EVA 8.0.1 release notes for information about layered application support.
HP Command View EVA implementation HP Command View EVA can be implemented in two ways: • Server-based management—HP Command View EVA is installed on a management server connected to the EVA, providing management of multiple HP EVA storage systems. All components of the software suite (HP Command View EVA, HP Command View EVAPerf, HP Storage System Scripting Utility, SMI-S EVA) are installed. Server-based management is applicable to all EVA models.
Resolution: Start VDS: 1. Right-click on My Computer and select Manage > Services and Applications > Services. 2. Scroll through the list of services and right-click on Virtual Disk Service. Select Properties. 3. Under the Startup status label, click Start and then click OK. Cause 2: The storage volume you are trying to create is too small. Resolution: Create a storage volume (virtual disk) with a size of 5 GB or greater. Cause 3: The Fibre Channel switch zoning is incorrect.
7. Click Finish to exit the utility. Javascript error messages displaying After installing HP Command View EVA through HP SmartStart EVA Storage, Javascript error messages can appear when you attempt to run HP Command View EVA. To avoid these error messages, ensure that your browser is configured correctly so that HP Command View EVA displays properly. See "Configuring browser settings" in the HP StorageWorks Command View EVA installation guide for more information.
