Description
HP StorageWorks SmartStart EVA Storage is an application that helps you install software programs
and drivers and configure an HP StorageWorks 4400 Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA4400) storage
system. HP StorageWorks Command View EVA 9.2 is included in HP SmartStart EVA Storage 3.2.
These release notes contain information specific to HP SmartStart EVA Storage 3.2.
NOTE:

interoperability” in the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array Compatibility Reference , available

Under Storage, click Storage Software, and then under Storage Device Management Software, click
HP StorageWorks Command View EVA Software.
Enhancements
This release includes:
• Updated HBA drivers
• Updated MPIO components
• Added support for Linux systems
• Added support for HP Command View EVA installation on a VMware virtual machine (VMware
ESX 3.5.x and 4.0)
NOTE:
VMware support for HP Command View EVA installation requires XCS 09534000 or later. Before
installing HP Command View EVA on a VMware virtual machine, upgrade the EVAs (EVA4400,
EVA6400/8400) to XCS 09534000 or later. Arrays that do not support this controller software
version, including EVA3000/5000, EVA4000/6000/8000, and EVA4100/6100/8100, should
only be managed through HP Command View EVA installed on a physical management server.
• Added support for the creation of Vraid6 virtual disks when using HP SmartStart EVA Storage to
create storage

HP SmartStart EVA Storage is supported on EVA4400 storage systems.
