8. Clean the surface with an alcohol wipe, and then apply
tamper-evident tape A in the indicated area.
9. Install the security cover.
10. Install the transportable flash module, and then install the
brackets and handles.
IMPORTANT: Allow alcohol to evaporate before
applying the tamper-evident tape.
11. Clean the surface with an alcohol wipe, and then apply
tamper-evident tape B in the indicated areas.
12. Close the handles, and then install the controller in the server.
IMPORTANT: The tape is fully tamper-evident after 24
hours. However, evidence of tampering transfers
immediately after the tape is applied.
13. Install the access panel.
P731m controller
IMPORTANT: When installed, the HP Physical Security Kit
obscures the serial number and spare part number. Before
installing the kit, be sure to record these numbers.
IMPORTANT: If you remove the Physical Security Kit (for
example, for a service event), you must purchase and
install a new option kit. Spare kits are not available.
1. If the controller is not installed, go to step 3.
2. If the controller is installed, do the following:
a. Power down the server.
b. Extend or remove the server from the rack.
c. Remove the access panel.
d. Remove components necessary to access the controller. For
more information, see the server user guide or the
maintenance and service guide.
e. Remove the controller from the server.
f. Remove the cache module.
CAUTION: Do not force the cache module cover closed
when installing it.
3. Install the cache module cover, ensuring it snaps into place.
IMPORTANT: Allow alcohol to evaporate before
applying the tamper-evident tape.
4. Clean the surface with an alcohol wipe, and then apply
tamper-evident tape C in the indicated areas.
5. Install the back cover on the controller, ensuring it snaps onto the
four heatsink push pins.
CAUTION: To avoid detaching the controller heatsink,
use light pressure when applying the tape to the P731m
controller.
IMPORTANT: To ensure that the correct tape is used, see
"Identifying tamper-evident tape patterns (on page 1)."
IMPORTANT: Use the edges on the back cover as a guide
when applying tape E.
IMPORTANT: Allow alcohol to evaporate before
applying the tamper-evident tape.
6. Clean the surface with an alcohol wipe, and then apply
tamper-evident tape D and E in the indicated areas.
7. Install the cache module.
8. If using the 2G cache module, connect the capacitor pack cable
to the cache module.
9. Install the DIMM connector cover, ensuring it snaps into place.
IMPORTANT: Allow alcohol to evaporate before
applying the tamper-evident tape.
10. Clean the surface with an alcohol wipe, and then apply
tamper-evident tape F in the indicated area.
IMPORTANT: Use the guide marks on the cache module
cover to apply tamper-evident tape F.
11. Install the controller in the server.
IMPORTANT: The tape is fully tamper-evident after 24
hours. However, evidence of tampering transfers
immediately after the tape is applied.
12. Install any other components that were removed.
13. Install the access panel.
The installation is complete.
