What’s New with Serviceguard
The following Serviceguard features and enhancements are supported in the HP Serviceguard
Storage Management Suite version A.04.01.01 bundles for HP-UX 11i v3:
New features available in Serviceguard:
• Easy Migration from Legacy Packages to Modular Packages: In this enhancement, Serviceguard
introduces a new command, cmeasymigrate.
This command can be used to convert Serviceguard legacy toolkit packages to modular
packages. Using this command you can also migrate or consolidate multiple legacy or modular
CFS packages into a single modular package.

◦ To obtain the list of features mentioned below, you must install the patch “PHSS_41628”,

• Serviceguard Support for IPv6/Mixed mode environment with Veritas Cluster Volume Manager
5.1 SP1 — IPv6/MIXED mode support allows a SG SMS cluster to be configured with:
◦ IPv6 only heartbeat and networks
◦ IPv6 and IPv4 heartbeat
◦ IPv4 heartbeat and IPv6 networks
◦ IPv6 heartbeat and IPv4 networks
◦ IPv6 subnets for CSS-HB and RAC Interconnect are not supported in Oracle RAC 11gR2
or earlier.
NOTE: From Veritas Storage Foundation 5.1 SP1, LLT can be configured to use UDP for
cross subnet configurations. Serviceguard also supports cross subnet configurations. However,
the SG SMS integration scripts are not enhanced to configure LLT over UDP. Hence, SG SMS
A.04.01.01 clusters will not support cross subnet configurations at the initial release.
