4. Update HP-UX and SG SMS depot.
NOTE: Based on the HP-UX 11i v3 Operating Environment version updating HP-UX 11iv3
and SG SMS depot varies.
1. For versions HP-UX 11i v3 March 2011 and September 2011 perform these operations:
a. Remove these bundles from the HP-UX depot:
• B3929FB
• Base-VxFS-50
• Base-VxVM-50
• Base-VxTools-5
b. On each system to be updated, enter the following command:
update-ux -s depot_server:/var/depots/my_hpux_depot\
!Base-VXVM Base-VXFS Base-VxFS-51 Base-VxTools-51\
Base-VxVM-51 VxFS-SDK-51 !B3929EA !B9116EB <SG SMS Bundle>
2. For versions HP-UX 11i v3 March 2012, September 2012, and March 2013 perform
these operations:
a. Remove the following bundles from the HP-UX depot:
• B3929HB
• Base-VxFS-501
• Base-VxVM-501
• Base-VxTools-501
b. On each system to be updated, enter the following command:
update-ux -s depot_server:/var/depots/my_hpux_depot\
!Base-VXVM Base-VXFS Base-VxFS-51 Base-VxTools-51\
Base-VxVM-51 VxFS-SDK-51 !B3929EA !B9116EB <SG SMS Bundle>
3. For HP-UX 11i v3 March 2014 perform this operation:
NOTE: There is no need to remove any bundles with version HP-UX 11i v3 March 2014.
You need to perform only update operation.
On each system to be updated, enter the following command:
update-ux -s depot_server:/var/depots/my_hpux_depot\
!Base-VXVM Base-VXFS Base-VxFS-51 Base-VxTools-51\
Base-VxVM-51 VxFS-SDK-51 !B3929EA !B9116EB <SG SMS Bundle>
The !B3929EA and !Base-VXVM entries on the CLI ensures that Online JFS and VxVM
4.1 are not installed from the depot during the update. If the HP-UX depot resides on the
system being updated, the depot_server: portion of this command can be omitted or
you can specify the local hostname, otherwise depot_server: will be the hostname
of the system where my_hpux_depot resides followed by a “:” (colon).
The update-ux command will update your system to HP-UX 11i v3 with the HP
Serviceguard Storage Management Suite version A.04.01.01 for HP-UX 11i v3 bundle
(which includes VxFS 5.1 SP1 and VxVM 5.1 SP1).
