What’s New with Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM)
The following VxVM features and enhancements are supported in the SG SMS version A.04.01.01
bundles:
• Support for SSD — A solid-state disk (SSD) is solid-state storage that emulates a hard disk
drive (HDD) interface.
• The vxdmpinq utility renamed to the vxscsiinq utility — The diagnostic utility vxdmpinq has
been renamed to the vxscsiinq utility.
• Enclosure-based naming is now the default naming scheme — The Veritas product installer
no longer prompts you to select a naming scheme. If you perform a fresh installation, the
naming scheme is set to enclosure-based naming.
• Enhancements to the vxconfigd daemon — The vxconfigd daemon can now process some
queries while a disk group import is in progress.
• Handling of minor number conflicts — In this release, VxVM can automatically resolve minor
number conflicts. You do not need to run the vxdg reminor command to resolve the minor
conflicts.

What’s New with Veritas Storage Foundation Cluster File System
The following Veritas Storage Foundation™ 5.1 SP1 Cluster File System (CFS) features and
enhancements are supported for HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite version A.04.01.01
bundles that include CFS:
• FFDC - GAB (Storage Foundation’s Group Membership Atomic Broadcast) introduces the FFDC
(First Failure Data Capture) feature providing persistent, automatic and cluster wide debug
logging.
• Support of HP Integrity Virtual Machine 4.2
• Support of HP Integrity Virtual Machine 4.3

A.04.01.01 for HP-UX 11i v3
All HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite bundles deliver core HP Serviceguard products
and the Veritas Storage Foundation™ by Symantec (SF). The Veritas Storage Foundation (SF)
includes the Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM) and the Veritas File System (VxFS). The Veritas™
Cluster File System by Symantec (CFS) is included in the T2777EB, T8687EB, and T8697EB
