NOTE: The T8684CB, T8685CB, T8686CB, and T8687CB bundles include the HAOE on a separate DVD, and the T8694CB, T8695CB, T8696CB, and T8697CB bundles include the DCOE on a separate DVD. These SG SMS operating environment bundles offer cost savings over purchasing and installing a SG SMS bundle (T277xCB) and an HP-UX operating environment separately.
NOTE: DMP is enabled by default for all VxVM and CVM disk groups, no additional configuration is required. HP-UX native multipathing is only supported with SG SMS bundles that do not include CVM. To enable HP-UX native multipathing for VxVM volumes, the following patches must be installed: PHCO_38235, PHKL_38236, PHKL_38241, and PHKL_38260. If these patches, or superseding patches are not installed, data corruption may occur.

Install the patches using the option “patch_match_target=true”. This ensures that only the patches from the depot that match the installed bundle are installed. 5. Patches and Fixes in this Version This section describes patches that are required and defects that have been fixed in HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Version A.02.01.01 for HP-UX 11i v3. Fixes This is a release of the HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite bundles. Individual products contained in the SG SMS bundles may include fixes. Consult the Release Notes for the products contained in the SG SMS bundle you are installing to confirm if any fixes apply to your configuration.

Use Case Examples • Creating a mount point that is not nested: cfsmntadm add cvm_dg1 lvol1 /cfs1 all=rw • Creating a nested mount point: cfsmntadm add cvm_dg1 lvol2 /cfs1/cfs2 all=rw (assuming cvm_dg1/lvol1 is already mounted on /cfs1, /cfs1/cfs2 becomes a nested mount point) • Creating a ckpt nested mount point: cfsmntadm add ckpt ckpt1 /cfs1 /cfs1/ckpt1 all=ro (if /cfs1 is a CFS mount point, /cfs1/ckpt1 becomes a nested mount check point) • Creating a snapshot nested mount point: cfsmntadm add snap
Oracle Disk Manager (ODM) with VxFS and LVM Oracle Disk Manager (ODM) for VxFS file systems on LVM volumes is not supported. Oracle Files that need ODM capability must reside on a VxFS file system created on a VxVM or CVM volume. Oracle Disk Manager (ODM) Limitation for CFS Oracle Bundles Single instance Oracle databases are not permitted outside of Serviceguard packages in environments using HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite T2776CB, T2777CB, T8686CB, T8687CB, T8696CB and T8697CB bundles.
The software on the HP-UX OE DVD is installed using update-ux. If a SG SMS OE bundle is installed on your system and you attempt to install or upgrade to an HP-UX OE version that includes Serviceguard and ECMT versions that are not supported with the SG SMS OE bundle, update-ux will detect the incompatible software.
Veritas man page Errata Due to the unique integration of HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite bundles, errata for Veritas man pages includes: • man page: llttab — What is the problem? Man page states the “llttab file must be managed by the System Administrator”. In HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite environments Serviceguard creates, distributes, and manages this file. — What is the workaround? Ignore man page.
