HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Version A.02.00 for HP-UX 11i v3 Release Notes, April 2008
This is due to the CVM master node not accepting a node join until completing recovery
processing to ensure data integrity.
• What is the workaround?
There is no workaround. The failing node should recover after TOC. Do not attempt to use
cmrunnode with the failed node, until the CVM master completes the data recovery process.
QXCR1000785683: vxconfigd core dump with SGeRAC
• What is the problem?
When vxconfigd receives a message that has an incorrect format; vxconfigd ignores the
message, but it does not clean up the structure. When vxconfigd handles a subsequent
message, the remains of the incorrectly formatted message cause vxconfigd to core dump.
The following message will appear in the syslog, when such an incident occurs:
vxconfigd (pid= xxx) is no longer running
WARNING: vxconfigd died 1 times, restarting
• What is the workaround?
There is no workaround, however, in a SG SMS environment, SG monitors the vxconfigd
process and SG will restart the vxconfigd automatically.
QXCR1000756219: VRTSdbm3 Issue with SG SMS Upgrade
• What is the problem?
When attempting to upgrade a SG SMS version A.02.00 for HP-UX 11i v2 bundle that contains
the VRTSdbms3 package to a SG SMS version A.02.00 for HP-UX 11i v3 bundle, the DBMS
server cannot be started. The following error message is printed in the swm and swagent
logs:
ERROR: Could not start DBMS server instance. Please check error.
ERROR: Return code: 2
ERROR: Installation has failed!
* Running "configure" script for product "VRTSdbms3". failed with 3
errors.
ERROR: The "configure" script for "VRTSdbms3" failed (exit code "1"). The
script location was

In addition to these errors during an update, errors will also be seen with a swverify
operation for VRTSdbed, VRTSdbcom and ASGV* products. You are advised to ignore these
ERROR messages as they are being reported for dependencies that these products define
on VRTSdbms3, which does not appear to be in the right state after an update. A sample of
these ERROR messages follows:
The corequisite "VRTSdbms3.VXDBMS,l=/opt,r=3.0.244.0" for
fileset "VRTSdbed.DBED,l=/,r=5.0.31.0" cannot be successfully
resolved.

* The software "VRTSdbms3.VXDBMS,l=/opt,r=3.0.244.0" is not in
the correct state (AVAILABLE, INSTALLED, or CONFIGURED). You
will need to recopy, reinstall or configure this software
before operating on software that depends on it.
The corequisite "VRTSdbms3.VXDBMS,l=/opt,r=3.0.244.0" for
