NOTE: If HP-UX native multipathing is configured with any SG SMS bundle installed on HP-UX 11i v3, data corruption may occur. A fix for QXCR1000792212 will enable HP-UX native multipathing on SG SMS bundles that do not include CVM (SG SMS bundles that include CVM cannot support HP-UX native multipathing). At this time, only Veritas DMP is supported as a multipathing solution for all SG SMS bundles installed on HP-UX 11i v3. What’s New with Serviceguard HP Storage Management Suite version 2.
In addition to all of the Serviceguard A.11.18 features that are included with patch PHSS_37095, the following additional Serviceguard version A.11.

• supported only if all of the upgrade paths between the two bundles also support rolling upgrades. Upgrade paths that are not listed in Table 1-4 will require an uninstall of the SG SMS bundle, before a different SG SMS bundle can be installed and configured. NOTE: Table 1-4: Supported SG SMS Bundle Upgrade Paths, is current as of the publication date of these Release Notes.
NOTE: If a newly installed bundle includes the same version of a product that was previously installed and patched, the patches may need to be installed again. NOTE: If there is a cluster configured on a node, the swremove command will not let you remove SG SMS from that node. You must remove the node from the cluster, then use swremove to remove SG SMS. NOTE: Before attempting a SG SMS bundle installation or upgrade, you must disable AUTOSTART_CMCLD.
NOTE: For current information on Serviceguard and HP-UX versions that are supported with various SG SMS versions, see the HP Serviceguard/SGeRAC/Storage Management Suite/Serviceguard Manager Plug-in Compatibility and Feature Matrix at: http://docs.hp.com/en/5971/SG-SGeRAC-SMS-EMS%20Support.pdf HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Compatibility with HP-UX Releases HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Version A.02.00 is compatible with HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3.
NOTE: Before attempting a SG SMS bundle installation or upgrade, you must disable AUTOSTART_CMCLD. To disable AUTOSTART_CMCLD on all cluster nodes, access the/etc/rc.cofig.d/cmcluster file and set AUTOSTART_CMCLD to 0, (AUTOSTART_CMCLD=0). To re-enable Automatic startup (AUTOSTART_CMCLD) after completing your SG SMS bundle installation or upgrade, set the flag AUTOSTART_CMCLD to 1 in the /etc/rc.config.
a. b. c. d. Go to http://www.hp.com/go/SG SMS/patches, for patches required for the HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite version you are installing. Follow any special instructions included with the patches. Download the patches into a single file, extract the contents, and create a single depot using the instructions included with the download. Install the patches using the option “patch_match_target=true”.
9. If you need to create an HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite cluster, see Managing Serviceguard for details on configuring the cluster. A high-level summary of the steps involved in using the Cluster File System includes: a. Create and start a Serviceguard cluster without a package using Serviceguard Manager or CFS commands (cmquerycl, cmcheckconf, cmapplyconf, cmruncl). b. Configure and start the CFS system multi-node package SG-CFS-pkg using Serviceguard Manager or the cfscluster command. c.
2. Copy the contents of the HP-UX Serviceguard and HP Storage Management Products media, for example /11iv3SG_DVD, into the same HP-UX depot. If there are multiple Serviceguard and Storage Management DVDs, repeat this with each DVD: swcopy -s /11iv3SG_DVD \* @ /var/depots/my_hpux_depot Or use interactive swcopy as shown in step 1. 3. If you plan to use this HP-UX depot to update systems other than the system where the depot resides, the HP-UX depot must be registered.

If this message is displayed in the update-ux interactive TUI (Terminal User Interface), simply press enter when prompted to do so, and continue with the update. For rolling upgrades, after installing HP-UX 11i v3 and a SG SMS non CFS bundle on a node, the node will rejoin the cluster automatically.
NOTE: The following SG SMS bundles that include Serviceguard extension for RAC (SGeRAC) require additional uninstall steps, if the SGeRAC patches PHSS_36928 and PHSS_36929 have been installed: — — — T2777CB T8687CB T8697CB See “QXCR1000772378: SG SMS Serviceguard eRAC bundle Uninstall Issue” (page 38) for more information.

Management Suite with CFS environment. These non-CFS commands could cause conflicts with subsequent CFS command operations on the file system or the Serviceguard packages. Use of HP-UX mount commands will not create an appropriate multi-node package, which means cluster packages will not be aware of file system changes. Instead, use the CFS commands cfsmount or cfsumount.
The software on the SG SMS DVD is installed using swinstall. If an HP-UX OE is installed on your system and you attempt to install a SG SMS version that is not supported with the versions of Serviceguard and Veritas Storage Foundation included with the OE, swinstall will detect the incompatible software and the installation will fail. The software on the OE DVD is installed using update-ux.
This is due to the CVM master node not accepting a node join until completing recovery processing to ensure data integrity. • What is the workaround? There is no workaround. The failing node should recover after TOC. Do not attempt to use cmrunnode with the failed node, until the CVM master completes the data recovery process.
