HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Version A.02.00 for HP-UX 11i v3 Release Notes, 3rd Edition, November 2008
NOTE: If HP-UX native multipathing is configured instead of Veritas DMP (Dymanic
Multipathing) with VxVM or CVM disk groups on HP-UX 11i v3, data corruption may occur.
Since DMP is enabled by default for all VxVM and CVM disk groups, no additional configuration
is required to enable DMP, and HP-UX native multipathing will be ignored by VxVM and CVM
disk groups. If patches PHCO_38235, PHKL_38236, PHKL_38241, and PHKL_38260 are installed,
HP-UX native multipathing is supported with VxVM only. However, VxVM disks configured
to use HP-UX native multipathing are not supported on systems with CVM installed.
What’s New with Serviceguard
HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite version A.02.00 for HP-UX 11i v3 includes HP
Serviceguard version A.11.18. Patch PHSS_38424 for Serviceguard A.11.18 provides the following
new features and enhancements to SG SMS version 2.0 for HP-UX 11i v3 bundles:
• HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Version A.02.00 bundles that include CFS can
now support CFS 5.0 nested mounts, up to a maximum of four levels of nesting. Patches
PHSS_38424 and PHSS_38400 enable this feature by default. To disable nested mounts, add
the following line to /etc/cmcluster.conf:
SGCFS_NESTED_MOUNT_SUPPORT=disabled
See “Guidelines for CFS Nested Mounts” (page 36) for more information.
• Serviceguard now supports a maximum of eight CFS nodes per site, up to a maximum of
sixteen CFS nodes across two sites. See “Serviceguard Limitations with CFS” (page 36) for
more information.
• Serviceguard now supports the increased number of LVM volume groups supported by the
HP-UX 11i v3 0809 Fusion release; the maximum number of volume groups you can configure
in a Serviceguard cluster is the maximum supported by HP-UX.
See the Serviceguard A.11.18 Release Notes available at: http://www.docs.hp.com/en/
ha.html#Serviceguard for more information.
• Serviceguard now supports LVM 2.0 volume groups, both for data and the cluster lock.
See the Serviceguard A.11.18 Release Notes available at: http://www.docs.hp.com/en/
ha.html#Serviceguard for more information.
• Mixed operating system clusters (HP–UX 11i v2 and 11i v3) are now supported with some
limitations.
See the Serviceguard A.11.18 Release Notes available at: http://www.docs.hp.com/en/
