NOTE: If HP-UX native multipathing is configured instead of Veritas DMP (Dymanic Multipathing) with VxVM or CVM disk groups on HP-UX 11i v3, data corruption may occur. Since DMP is enabled by default for all VxVM and CVM disk groups, no additional configuration is required to enable DMP, and HP-UX native multipathing will be ignored by VxVM and CVM disk groups. If patches PHCO_38235, PHKL_38236, PHKL_38241, and PHKL_38260 are installed, HP-UX native multipathing is supported with VxVM only.
NOTE: As of April 2008, the following Serviceguard A.11.18 features are not supported with SG SMS version 2.0 for HP-UX 11i v3 bundles: • HEARTBEAT_INTERVAL, NODE_TIMEOUT • Support for online addition and deletion of heartbeat and data network interfaces along with the corresponding HEARTBEAT_IP and STATIONARY_IP cluster parameters • Increased support for APA The following Serviceguard version A.11.

NOTE: If a newly installed bundle includes the same version of a product that was previously installed and patched, the patches may need to be installed again. NOTE: If there is a cluster configured on a node, the swremove command will not let you remove SG SMS from that node. You must remove the node from the cluster, then use swremove to remove SG SMS. NOTE: Before attempting a SG SMS bundle installation or upgrade, you must disable AUTOSTART_CMCLD.
NOTE: For current information on Serviceguard and HP-UX versions that are supported with various SG SMS versions, see the HP Serviceguard/SGeRAC/Storage Management Suite/Serviceguard Manager Plug-in Compatibility and Feature Matrix at: http://docs.hp.com/en/5971/SG-SGeRAC-SMS-EMS%20Support.pdf HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Compatibility with HP-UX Releases HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Version A.02.00 is compatible with HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3.
NOTE: Before attempting a SG SMS bundle installation or upgrade, you must disable AUTOSTART_CMCLD. To disable AUTOSTART_CMCLD on all cluster nodes, access the/etc/rc.cofig.d/cmcluster file and set AUTOSTART_CMCLD to 0, (AUTOSTART_CMCLD=0). To re-enable Automatic startup (AUTOSTART_CMCLD) after completing your SG SMS bundle installation or upgrade, set the flag AUTOSTART_CMCLD to 1 in the /etc/rc.config.

subsequent CFS command operations on the file system or the Serviceguard packages. Use of HP-UX mount commands will not create an appropriate multi-node package, which means cluster packages will not be aware of file system changes. Instead, use the CFS commands cfsmount or cfsumount. Guidelines for CFS Nested Mounts A maximum of four levels of nesting is supported with CFS nested mounts. VxFS, Check Point (ckpt), and snapshot cluster file systems are supported with CFS nested mounts.
1. Disable AUTOSTART_CMCLD in /etc/rc.config.d/cmcluster on node2: In /etc/rc.cofig.d/cmcluster, set AUTO_START_CMCLD=0 2. Halt node2: cmhaltnode -f node2 3. Delete node2 from all of the application packages. Edit all application package ASCII files and remove node2 from the package configuration. Re-apply the package configuration: cmapplyconf –f –P app-pkg-ascii-file 4.
Dirty Region Logging (DRL) for Mirrored Volumes If a system failure occurs while mirrored volumes are in use, the mirrors will recover and clean up any writes that were in progress when the system failed. The Dirty Region Logging (DRL) feature tracks writes that are in progress to reduce the recovery effort after a system failure. Without DRL, the entire volume must be recovered, because there is no way to determine which blocks had writes in progress at the time of the system failure.
QXCR1000819271: VxVM commands are hanging in EDC testing • • What is the problem? In an Extended Distance Cluster (EDC) configuration that has separate heartbeat and FibreChannel links, when the FibreChannel link between the two sites is disconnected and then reconnected a few minutes after a FiberChannel failure is detected, VxVM commands such as vxprint, vxdg, vxdisk, and vxdmpadm will hang when they are executed on the master and slave nodes of a CFS cluster.
