HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite A.03.00 Release Notes

The following new features and enhancements are included in the HP Serviceguard Storage
Management Suite version A.03.00 bundles for HP-UX 11i v3 :
• Serviceguard CFS clusters now support APA in the hearbeat network.
• Serviceguard CFS clusters use MEMBER_TIMEOUT to specify how long it takes for a node to
time out. NODE_TIMEOUT and HEARTBEAT_INTERVAL are replaced by MEMBER_TIMEOUT
in SG SMS version A.03.00.
• Support for Dynamic Root Disk (DRD) on HP-UX 11i v3 - before attempting an upgrade to SG
SMS version A.03.00 from a previous SG SMS version, see “Using Dynamic Root Disk Utilities
(DRD) to upgrade to SG SMS A.03.00” (page 25)
NOTE: If HP-UX native multipathing is configured instead of Veritas DMP (Dymanic Multipathing)
is enabled by default for VxVM and CVM disk groups on HP-UX 11i v3. Since DMP is enabled
by default for all VxVM and CVM disk groups, no additional configuration is required to enable
DMP, and HP-UX native multipathing will be ignored by VxVM and CVM disk groups. HP-UX native
multipathing is supported with VxVM only. However, VxVM disks configured to use HP-UX native
multipathing are not supported on systems with CVM installed.
NOTE: The following HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite product bundles were
discontinued and removed from the price list effective February 1, 2009:

• T2773BA
• T2774BA
• T2775BA
• T2776xx
The T2776CA, T2776CB, and T2776DB bundles will continue to be licensed only as a
component of the HP-UX operating environment bundles (MCOE bundles for 11i v2, HAOE
and DCOE bundles for 11i v3). The T2776CA, T2776CB, and T2776DB bundles cannot be
purchased and licensed independent from the HP-UX operating environment bundles that
include them.
