T2777xx: HP Serviceguard Cluster File System for Oracle RAC

The HP Serviceguard Cluster File System for Oracle RAC (SGCFSRAC) is an integrated product

bundle that includes Serviceguard high availability clustering and Serviceguard Extension for RAC

with Symantec’s VxVM and VxFS, plus the Veritas CFS and Veritas CVM for concurrent data access

from multiple servers for Oracle RAC environments. This bundle allows the use of a CFS in an Oracle

RAC environment, together with SGeRAC. This bundle also includes a special database accelerator

for Oracle that provides the performance of near raw mode with the manageability of a file system.

This bundle includes the following individual components:

 HP Serviceguard Manager

 HP Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit

 Veritas File System version

 Veritas Volume Manager version

 Veritas Dynamic Multi-Pathing (DMP)

 Veritas Enterprise Administrator

 Dynamic Storage Tiering (DST)

 Instant Volume Snapshots (FlashSnap)

 Storage Checkpoints

 Disk Group Split and Join (FlashSnap)

 FastResync

 Oracle Disk Manager for Oracle 9i and 10g

 Veritas Storage Rollback

 Storage Mapping to a LUN Level

 Database FlashSnap

 Veritas Cluster File System (CFS)

 Veritas Cluster Volume Manager (CVM)

 HP Serviceguard Extension for RAC

Compared to the SGCFSO bundle, the SGCFSRAC bundle adds HP Serviceguard Extension for RAC.

Some of the functionality that does not work with Oracle RAC, such as Database FlashSnap and

Storage Mapping, are now available in SGCFSRAC (T2777xx) starting with version A.02.00. This

bundle is designed for Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g RAC environments.

The SGCFSRAC is an option for TruCluster (including AdvFS and LSM) users who want to transition an

Oracle RAC environment from Tru64 to HP-UX.

Note

If you are interested in the OEs, HP recommends ordering one of the OEs

ith SGCFSRAC because some of the Serviceguard CFS for RAC products

are already included in the OEs.
