READ ME before using the Veritas Storage Foundation™ 5.1 SP1 for Oracle RAC Administrator's Guide (April 2011)

1 Overview
This README before using the Veritas™ Storage Foundation for Oracle® RAC Administrator's
Guide, 5.1 SP1 contains important information about Veritas Storage Foundation when it is included
in an HP Serviceguard Cluster File System for RAC bundle. This information IS NOT included in
the Veritas™ Storage Foundation for Oracle® RAC Administrator's Guide, 5.1 SP1.
The information in this README applies to the following SG SMS Version A.04.00 bundles:
• T2777EB bundle — A.04.00.00 HP Serviceguard Cluster File System
• T8687EB bundle — A.04.00.00 HP HA-OE with Serviceguard Cluster File System
• T8697EB bundle — A.04.00.00 HP DC-OE with Serviceguard Cluster File System
As SG SMS components, Veritas CFS and CVM are integrated with HP Serviceguard to form a
highly available clustered computing environment. Serviceguard Cluster File System for RAC Bundles
include CFS and CVM, but they do not include the Veritas™ Cluster Server by Symantec (VCS).
In Serviceguard Cluster File System for RAC Bundles, VCS functions are performed by Serviceguard
with the Serviceguard Extension for RAC (SGeRAC). When you consult the Veritas™ Storage
Foundation for Oracle® RAC Administrator's Guide, 5.1 SP1, substitute Serviceguard with SGeRAC
for VCS.
IMPORTANT: The following Chapters and Sections in the Veritas™ Storage Foundation for Oracle®
RAC Administrator's Guide, 5.1 SP1 are not applicable to SG SMS Version A.04.00 bundles T2777EB,
T8687EB, and T8697EB:
