hardware and software within an open HA framework environment.
4.2.1 Scope of an Open HA Framework
The design of an open HA framework needs to consider the full environment and full life-cycle of
components in the target infrastructure. These include:
• Compatibility with existing and legacy systems and infrastructure
• Design, porting and troubleshooting of applications
• Installation into the infrastructure
• Manageability and security
• Performance, cost and scalability
• Component failure, isolation and recovery
• Testing and repair
• Hardware and software changes and upgrades
