Managing Serviceguard 14th Edition, June 2007
Planning and Documenting an HA Cluster
Package Configuration Planning
Chapter 4190
Default is 60 seconds. The minimum value is 1. (There
is no practical maximum.).
resource_start Determines whether Serviceguard should start
monitoring this resource when the package starts, or
when the node joins the cluster.
See “Parameters for Configuring EMS Resources” on
page 170.
resource_up_value
The criteria for judging whether a package resource
has failed or not.
You can configure a total of 15 resource_up_values
per package. For example, if there is only one resource
(resource_name) in the package, then a maximum of
15 resource_up_values can be defined. If two
resource_names are defined and one of them has 10
resource_up_values, then the other resource_name
can have only 5 resource_up_values.
The maximum length of the resource_up_value
string is 1024 characters. More details in Chapter 6
under resource_up_value (see page 291).
concurrent_vgchange_operations
Specifies the number of concurrent volume group
activations or deactivations to allow during package
startup or shutdown. Legal value is any number
greater than zero. The default is 1. If the package will
need to activate a large number of LVM volume groups,
read the discussion in Chapter 6 under
concurrent_vgchange_operations (see page 292).
vgchange_cmd Specifies the method of activation for LVM volume
groups. Details in Chapter 6, under vgchange_cmd
(see page 292), and in the package configuration file.
cvm_activation_cmd
Specifies the command for activation of Veritas CVM
disk groups (on systems that support CVM; see “About
Veritas CFS and CVM from Symantec” on page 29).
