Chapter 128
Using Serviceguard Manager
Serviceguard Manager is the graphical user interface for Serviceguard.
In Serviceguard A.11.17.01, Serviceguard Manager is available in both a
new and an old form:
New: as a “plug-in” to the System Management Homepage (SMH).
SMH is a web-based graphical user interface (GUI) that replaces
SAM as the system administration GUI as of HP-UX 11i v3 (but you
can still run the SAM terminal interface; see “Using SAM” on
page 31). References to “Serviceguard Manager” in this document
refer to this version unless otherwise stated.
Old: as an independent management application running on an
HP-UX, Linux, or Windows system. References to this version in this
document will use the terms “management application” or
“management station”.
You can use Serviceguard Manager to monitor, administer, and configure
Serviceguard clusters on HP-UX or on Linux.
Monitor: you can see information about Serviceguard objects on your
subnets.
Administer: you can do administrative tasks such as run or halt
clusters and packages.
Configure: you can create or modify clusters and packages.
Check the latest Release Notes for your version of Serviceguard for
up-to-date information about Serviceguard Manager
(http://www.docs.hp.com -> High Availability ->
Serviceguard). The station management version of Serviceguard
Manager is available free from the Serviceguard Distributed
Components Disk that comes with Serviceguard, or from
http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot. (The plug-in version does not
require installation; see the Serviceguard Release Notes for more
information.)
