Building an HA Cluster Configuration
Using DSAU during Configuration
Chapter 5258
Using DSAU during Configuration
HP Distributed Systems Administration Utilities (DSAU) improve both
Serviceguard cluster management and multisystem management. The
tools provide:
• Configuration synchronization
• Log consolidation
• Command fan-out
Synchronizing Your Configuration
To simplify managing your configuration, you can use the Distributed
Systems Administration Utilities (DSAU) to help with policy-based
configuration management. These utilities help to eliminate manual
operations, simplify using your own scripts, or redoing your custom
modifications and assist in bringing systems up to your standards.
Using DSAU, you can create a package that offers a highly available
configuration synchronization service within the cluster. You can also
use this for managing other Serviceguard clusters and distributed
systems.
The system hosting the package acts as the configuration master. The
configuration master hosts the master configuration-description file that
defines what actions need to be performed for each cluster member to be
considered synchronized and in the desired state.
The configuration master maintains copies of all files you want
synchronized across your clients. The configuration master can perform
the following configuration synchronization actions that can be
scheduled using cron or ad hoc:
• Ensure that you have the same reference configuration files as the
configuration master (for example, package scripts, /etc/hosts and
so on)
• Update a client file with information from the configuration master
• Verify file permissions
• Verify file ownership
