HP Serviceguard Version A.11.20 Release Notes, February 2014
• You can use the FSWeb utility to configure LVM volumes in a Serviceguard cluster (and SLVM
volumes if the add-on product Serviceguard Extension for Real Application Cluster (SGeRAC)
is installed).
For more information about FSWeb, see the fsweb (1m) manpage.
• Serviceguard supports the following recently added HP-UX 11i v3 capabilities:
◦ Dynamic Root Disk (DRD); see “Upgrade Using DRD” (page 44).
See also “What’s Not in this Release” (page 15).

5.0 and earlier.
For the most up-to-date information, check the HP Serviceguard/SGeRAC/Serviceguard

• Serviceguard A.11.20 does not currently support the target port congestion control capability

About the New Features
The subsections that follow discuss the major new capabilities introduced in the A.11.20 release,
as well as those introduced in patches to A.11.20. Information on using these capabilities is in
the latest version of Managing Serviceguard, which you can find at the address given under
“Documents for This Version” (page 34).
iSCSI Storage Support with Persistent Reservations
This feature of Serviceguard for HP-UX supports the use of iSCSI storage with Persistent Reservation
(PR) to control access. For this release, Serviceguard only supports the iSCSI P4000 storage series.
For more information, see the HP Serviceguard Solutions Storage Support Matrix at http://
www.hp.com/go/hpux-serviceguard-docs —> HP Serviceguard.
Persistent Reservation provides a means to register I/O initiators with SCSI LUNs and gain access
to the iSCSI storage LUN by reserving it using a PR key. PR specifies who can access LUN devices
(anyone, all registrants, only one registrant) and how (read-only, write-only). It is defined by the
SCSI Primary Commands version 3 (SPC-3) standard.
Serviceguard packages with iSCSI volume groups will perform PR operations in addition to volume
group activation/deactivation at package start and halt.
For more information, see the “iSCSI Storage and Persistent Reservations” section in Chapter 3 of
the latest version of the Managing Serviceguard manual.
