IMPORTANT: If your storage devices are configured with only a single path, or you
have disabled multipathing, you should disable PCI Error Recovery; otherwise
Serviceguard may not detect when connectivity is lost and cause a failover.
For instructions on using the pci_eh_enable parameter to disable PCI Error Recovery,
see the “Tunable Kernel Parameters” section of the latest edition of the PCI Error Recovery
Product Note in the High Availability collection on docs.hp.com.
Online Replacement of LAN Cards Requires Patch
Before you can replace a LAN card online (without bringing down the cluster) as
described under “Replacing LAN or Fibre Channel Cards” in Chapter 8 of Managing
Serviceguard, you must apply patch PHNE_35894. See “Patches for this Version”
(page 63) and “QXCR1000575890: OLR of a LAN Card in SG cluster fails on HP-UX
11i v3” (page 64).
For more information about replacing interface cards online, see the Interface Card OL*
Support Guide for HP-UX 11i v3, at http://docs.hp.com -> High Availability
-> System Administration.
What’s in this Release
This release of Serviceguard A.11.19 runs on both HP-UX 11i v2 and 11i v3, and adds
new functionality. There are some platform-dependent differences.
See the subsections that follow for details; see also the “Announcements” (page 11).
For information about documentation, see “Documents for This Version ” (page 47).
New Features for July 2009 Patches
Serviceguard A.11.19, with the patches listed under “July 2009 Patches” (page 11),
provides the following new capabilities:
• Improved support for IPv6, including support for IPv6–only hosts.
See “New Support for IPv6” (page 24).
• Improved support for online package maintenance.
See “Package Maintenance Mode” (page 28).
• Support for Dynamic Root Disk (DRD) on HP-UX 11i v3.
See “Upgrade Using DRD” (page 59).
• New -K option for cmgetconf.
This causes cmgetconf to skip probing of volume groups, allowing the command
to complete faster; the resulting cluster configuration file will not contain a list of
cluster-aware volume groups. See cmgetconf (1m) for more information.
