HP Serviceguard Version A.11.18 Release Notes, September 2008
Fixed in This Version
This section shows which defects listed as known problems in the Release Notes for
the previous release have now been fixed. Specifically, the fixes below are to defects
reported in the A.11.17 and A.11.17.01 Release Notes, and earlier versions of the A.11.18
Release Notes.
NOTE: Serviceguard A.11.18 also includes all fixes already included in patches to
earlier Serviceguard versions; these fixes are not necessarily documented here.
JAGaf46654 (SR8606386500): cmcld: software causes connection abort if standby
LAN card fails
Problem: cmcld aborted during startup if a LAN card failed, or could not be seen by
the system because of other hardware failures.
Resolution: cmcld now handles missing LAN cards during startup. The code has been
changed so that a local switch will occur if a LAN card fails and there is a standby
available in that bridged net.
JAGaf67601 (SR8606407696): cmcld does not consider newer drivers e.g. c8xx and
mpt for cluster lock
Problem: cmcld had not been updated to handle the drivers for the newer supported
cluster lock interface cards such as the Ultra160 and Ultra320 cards which use the c8xx
and mpt drivers respectively. This meant cmcld defaulted the cluster lock timings to
the default (worst case) leading to longer failover times than would be expected,
approximately 60 seconds, rather than 30 seconds which would be expected for the
c720 driver in a simple two-node cluster with a two second NODE_TIMEOUT.
Resolution: The code has been modified to support the Ultra160 and Ultra320, which
use the c8xx and mpt drivers.
JAGaf75382 (SR8606415528): lan2 has an IPv6 address (fec0:0:0:f08::36) but not
in config. file
Problem: This happened only with an IPv6 configuration. When a primary network
interface configured with IPv6 address failed, and the switching of an IPv6 address
encountered ENOMEM, a message such as the following appeared in syslog:
There is(are) 1 incidence(s) of :
Sep 11 16:34:38 ptest90 cmcld[11930]: Failed to switch
fec0:0:0:f08::36 from lan1:34(0) to lan2:27(3):
Not enough space
And then any subsequent Serviceguard configuration operations (such as cmapplyconf
etc.) failed.
