Serviceguard Optional Products Not Bundled
The following optional product is not bundled with Serviceguard, but is delivered free
with Serviceguard on the Serviceguard Distributed Components CD, and can also be
downloaded from http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot/ha:
• Quorum Server, and the Quorum Server Version A.03.00 Release Notes.
SMS A.01.01 or Later Required with June 2007 or Later MCOE
If you are running one of the HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite (SMS) version
A.01.00 MCOE bundles (T2794BA, T2795BA, T2796BA, T2797BA) do not attempt an
upgrade to an HP-UX Mission Critical Operating Environment (MCOE) version dated
June 2007 or later, without also upgrading to a compatible version of SMS.
The upgrade will complete without errors, but it will not be possible to start the cluster.
This is because the SMS version A.01.00 MCOE bundles support only Serviceguard
version A.11.17, but the MCOE includes Serviceguard version A.11.18 after the June
2007 release.
If you need to update to the June 2007 or later version of the MCOE, you must upgrade
to a compatible version of SMS (A.01.01 or A.02.00) as well. For instructions, see the

Support for Veritas 5.0
Serviceguard A.11.18 now supports version 5.0 of Veritas VxVM, CVM and CFS from
Symantec, on both HP-UX 11i v2 and 11i v3. See “Support for Veritas 5.0 on HP-UX
11i v2 and 11i v3” (page 25).
New Method for Configuring Packages
Serviceguard A.11.18 introduces a new process for configuring packages. Packages
created by this method are known as modular packages, because you can now build
a package using only the sets of functions (modules) that this package needs; and you
no longer need to create and distribute a separate package control script.
Packages created using previous versions of Serviceguard are referred to as legacy
packages and are still supported; you can continue to maintain as well as run them.

New Online Cluster-Management Capabilities
Serviceguard A.11.18 introduces important new online management capabilities,
particularly as regards the cluster timing parameters and networking configuration.
