Serviceguard Version A.11.17 Release Notes
Whats in this Version
Chapter 1 9
default is now 150, the maximum that Serviceguard supports.
Previously the default was 0, so users had to set it before any
packages could be configured.
With Serviceguard A.11.17, you can change the value of
MAX_CONFIGURED_PACKAGES without halting the cluster.
A new option for the cmviewcl command creates output that is
formatted to be used by scripts. The easily parsed output from
cmviewcl -f line is a concise summary of cluster objects and their
status.
Serviceguard now supports VERITAS CVM 4.1 in clusters up to 4
nodes, and the VERITAS Cluster File System (CFS) in clusters up to
4 nodes.
A new package type, the multi-node package is now supported for
HP-specified applications. Like system multi-node packages,
multi-node packages do not fail over, and can run on more than one
node at a time. Unlike system multi-node packages, they do not have
to run on every active node in the cluster, but can be configured to
run on specific nodes.
A new system multi-node package was created for CVM 4.1. Two
multi-node packages are available for CFS with CVM 4.1: one for
mount points, and one for disk groups.
Several new Serviceguard commands have been added for the CFS
package management. See “Support for CFS and CVM 4.1”, below.
Simple dependencies are introduced for HP-specified applications.
The dependency is defined in the application package’s configuration
file. The package with this configuration will not start unless the
conditions of the dependency are satisfied.
Support for Distributed Systems Administration Utilities (DSAU): A
new set of utilities for HP-UX 11i v2. It consists of:
Configuration synchronization tools provide policy-based
configuration management for Serviceguard clusters.
Synchronization templates are provided which help prevent
configuration drift in the cluster.
Consolidated logging tools provide centralized logging and
advanced log filtering features. Specific support is provided for
creating highly available log consolidation using Serviceguard.
