Serviceguard Version A.11.17 Release Notes
Installing Serviceguard on HP-UX 11i v2
Chapter 126
Bad binary config file directory format.
Could not convert old binary configuration file.
These messages may safely be ignored.
Enhanced Security
HP does not recommend disabling this security feature in version
A.11.16.00 or later, as it provides and maintains the integrity and high
availability for your data. You can, however, disable the features, but it
must be done after installing Serviceguard but before each node re-joins
the cluster (for example, just before issuing the cmrunnode or cmruncl
command).
If you decide to disable the use of identd, add the -i option to the tcp
hacl-cfg and hacl-probe inetd configurations.
For example, on HP-UX with Serviceguard A.11.17:
1. Change the cmclconfd entry in /etc/inetd.conf to appear as:
hacl-cfg stream tcp nowait root /usr/lbin/cmclconfd \
cmclconfd -c -i
2. Change the cmomd entry in /etc/inetd.conf to appear as:
hacl-probe stream tcp nowait root \
/opt/cmom/lbin/cmomd /opt/cmom/lbin/cmomd -i -f \
/var/opt/cmom/cmomd.log -r /var/opt/cmom
3. Reconfigure inetd:
inetd -c
De-Installing Serviceguard
To de-install the Serviceguard software, run the SD-UX swremove
command. Before removing software, note the following:
1. Serviceguard must be halted (not running) on the node from which
the swremove command is issued.
2. The system from which the swremove command is issued must be
removed from the cluster configuration. (If the node is not removed
from the cluster configuration first, swremove will cause the current
cluster to be deleted.)
