Mixed Clusters
As of HP-UX 11i v2 Update 2 (0409) and Serviceguard A.11.16,
Serviceguard supports “mixed” clusters, consisting of HP 9000 and
Integrity servers. Mixed clusters support the same volume managers, at
the same version level, as homogeneous Serviceguard clusters. The
following restrictions apply (specifics for the current release in
parentheses):
All nodes must be running:
The same version of HP-UX (11i v3)
The same version of Serviceguard (A.11.17 on HP-UX 11i v3, also
known as 11.17.01)
The same version of any volume manager or file system that is
independent of HP-UX (VxVM/VxFS 4.1)
The same patch level for LVM and SLVM
The same patch level for HP-UX, Serviceguard, and volume
managers and related subsystems (for example Veritas VxVM,
and VxFS)
NOTE CVM and CFS are not currently supported with Serviceguard
A.11.17 on HP-UX 11i v3. See “Veritas CVM and CFS Not Yet
Supported” on page 8.
All applications running in the cluster must adhere to the vendor’s
requirements for mixed Integrity and HP 9000 environments.
