Serviceguard NFS Toolkit A.11.31.06 Release Notes (April 2010)

Announcement
Serviceguard NFS Toolkit A.11.31.06 supports both legacy and modular package configurations
with HP Serviceguard A.11.18 and later versions. The support for legacy and modular package
configurations is available for serviceguard clusters configured with both VxFS (non-CFS) and
Veritas Cluster File System (CFS). In a CFS environment, all nodes in the Serviceguard cluster
can concurrently access the files in the CFS. The NFS servers in the cluster can concurrently access
and export directories in the CFS. As a result, CFS enables NFS clients (typically located outside
the cluster) to concurrently use multiple NFS servers to access files. If an NFS server or a package
fails, the adoptive nodes do not have to mount disks from the failed system, since the disks are
already mounted on the adoptive node. This feature provides improved performance, scalability,
and availability.
Serviceguard NFS Toolkit A.11.31.06 contains defect fixes. For information about these defect
fixes, see “New Fixes in Version A.11.31.06” (page 8)
For more information about how to configure the NFS modular package in a VxFS (non-CFS)
environment, see the Serviceguard NFS Toolkit A.11.11.06, A.11.23.05 and A.11.31.05 Administrator's
Guide at:
http://docs.hp.com/en/ha.html#Highly%20Available%20NFS
For more information about how to configure the NFS modular package in a Veritas CFS
environment, see the Serviceguard NFS Toolkit Support for Cluster File System White Paper at:
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/10517/ServiceguardNFSToolkitWhitepaper.pdf.
NOTE: Support for Serviceguard NFS Legacy Packages will be completely withdrawn in the
future. Use the modular method to create new packages whenever possible.
