Known Problems and Workarounds
The following lists known problems for Serviceguard Manager version A.05.03, at time of
publication. This list is subject to change without notice. Contact your HP support representative
for up-to-the-moment information. More recent information on known problems and workarounds
may be available on the Hewlett-Packard IT Resource Center: http://www.itrc.hp.com .
QXCR1000922146: Java displays "unaligned access" messages on Linux ia64
What is the problem? When running Serviceguard Manager A.05.03 bundles with JRE 6 update
13 on a Linux ia64 system, Java Virtual Machine (JVM) displays unaligned access messages,
but the software runs properly.
What is the workaround? Ignore the unaligned access messages. HP completed extensive
testing and did not find any issues.
QXCR1000922151: Connection to Object Manager fails on some systems with FireFox 3 installed
What is the problem? On some systems the public JRE setting is modified by FireFox 3, causing
the Object Manager connection to fail. This happens only when Serviceguard Manager is launched
via Java Web Start from the Systems Insight Manager (SIM).
What is the workaround? Remove Firefox 3 from the system, or download and install a local copy
of Serviceguard Manager on the client system.
QXCR1000898799 SMH SSO section not rendered in SIM content frame on FireFox
What is the problem? SMH cannot be opened correctly inside the SIM content frame on Firefox,
due to the origin policy for JavaScript in Mozilla/Firefox. There is no fix for this problem in SMH,
because it is a browser restriction.
What is the workaround? There is no workaround for this problem.
QXCR1000579551 FS Mount Options configuration inserts spaces around "=" symbols (Inactive)
What is the problem? When adding custom mount options that require an equal "=" sign, when
applying the package, the resulting package control script contains spaces on both sides of the
"=" sign. Equal signs are not recognized by the mount (1m) command, so the resulting package
control script will fail on package startup.
What is the workaround? Manually edit the script and remove the spaces - on all nodes that have
a copy of the package control script.
QXCR1000738906 Serviceguard Manager A.05.02 does not allow configuration of multiple IP
addresses for a Quorum Server
What is the problem? Configuring multiple IP addresses for a Quorum Server can only be done
via the command line. If a Serviceguard cluster is already configured with multiple IP addresses
for a Quorum Server, then Serviceguard Manager will not allow you to make any modifications
to the cluster configuration file.
What is the workaround? Select the correct version of Serviceguard Manager to launch.
JAGag47837 Launching interface of Serviceguard Manager needs to handle standalone/plug-ins
What is the problem? When attempting to launch Serviceguard Manager from VSE Manager, a
screen appears prompting you to select which Serviceguard Manager version you want to use.
