Serviceguard Manager Version A.05.03 Release Notes (April 2010)

In non-English locales, when installing on HP-UX 11.11, install the TrueType Fonts patch:

Before you use the Event Browser, install a patches on all HP-UX nodes in the clusters that will
send the SNMP traps to your Serviceguard Manager Event Browser. The patch numbers are:
• PHSS_27858 for HP-UX 11.x
Serviceguard Manager installs its own JRE (Java Runtime Environment). Check for defects for
each platform's JRE:
• On HP-UX, Serviceguard Manager automatically installs JRE Version 1.6.0.06
• On x86_64 and ia32 Linux, Serviceguard Manager automatically installs JRE 1.6.0_18.1
• On ia64 Linux, Serviceguard Manager automatically installs JRE 1.6.0_18.1
• On Windows, Serviceguard Manager automatically installs JRE 1.6.0_18.1
Check your operating system for patches:

QXCR1000959468 HP SIM 6.0 no longer supports Serviceguard Manager A.05.02
What was the problem? During Serviceguard Manager A.05.02 installation, SIM will install SG-SIM
integration files - this worked for SIM 5.3.1, but with SIM 6.0, one of the files does not get installed.
SIM 6.0 supports Serviceguard Manager A.05.03 - upgrade to Serviceguard Manager A.05.03 to
solve this problem.

What was the problem? A security bulletin was issued against the following versions:
• HP-UX B.11.11, B.11.23, B.11.31 running HP JDK and JRE 6.0.05 or earlier
• HP-UX B.11.11, B.11.23, B.11.31 running HP JDK and JRE 5.0.18 or earlier
• HP-UX B.11.11, B.11.23, B.11.31 running HP Java SDK and RTE 1.4.2.23 or earlier
An updated JRE will be bundled with Serviceguard Manager on all platforms to avoid this
published security vulnerability.
IMPORTANT: Although this problem was fixed in Serviceguard Manager version A.05.03, the
Java Runtime Environment version that Serviceguard Manager installs may still need to be

HP recommends that you install any of the following updates that apply to your configuration:
HP UNIX JRE Update to:
• For Java v6.0.05 and earlier, update to Java v6.0.06 or subsequent
• For Java v5.0.18 and earlier, update to Java v5.0.19 or subsequent
