Known Problems and Workarounds

publication. This list is subject to change without notice. Contact your HP support representative
for up-to-the-moment information. More recent information on known problems and workarounds
may be available on the Hewlett-Packard IT Resource Center: http://www.itrc.hp.com .
QXCR1000913559: Issues with InstallAnywhere Windows uninstaller
What is the problem? On Windows Vista and 2008, after the user uninstalls Serviceguard Manager,
the program icon/shortcut is not removed immediately. The program icon/shortcut disappears
after the user logs out and logs in again. On all supported versions of Windows, the uninstaller
sometimes does not properly unregister Serviceguard Manager from Systems Insight Manager
database.
What is the workaround? Run the following commands to completely remove and restore program
registration. mxtool –rt "HP Serviceguard Manager" For Systems Insight Manager 5.3.1 and later
only: cd C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager mxtool –af tools\sgmgrBasic.xml
QXCR1000922146: Java displays "unaligned access" messages on Linux ia64
What is the problem? When running Serviceguard Manager A.05.02 bundles with JRE 6 update
13 on a Linux ia64 system, Java Virtual Machine (JVM) displays unaligned access messages,
but the software runs properly.
What is the workaround? Ignore the unaligned access messages. HP completed extensive
testing and did not find any issues.
QXCR1000922151: Connection to Object Manager fails on some systems with FireFox 3 installed
What is the problem? On some systems the public JRE setting is modified by FireFox 3, causing
the Object Manager connection to fail. This happens only when Serviceguard Manager is launched
via Java Web Start from the Systems Insight Manager (SIM).
What is the workaround? Remove Firefox 3 from the system, or download and install a local copy
of Serviceguard Manager on the client system.
