What’s in this Version
ServiceGuard Manager, version A.02.01 is available for installation on
HP-UX, Linux, and Windows. All platforms areavailable from the web at
software.hp.com, or are delivered on CD ROM:
Product B8325BA software and license for HP-UX
Product T1228BA software and license for Linux
Product B8341BA software and license for Windows
In Version A.02.01, you can monitor ServiceGuard-specific SNMP
messages from HP-UX ServiceGuard clusters. The map will
automatically be updated as events are received. (This is in addition to
auto-refresh polling and one-time refresh by user command.)
The ServiceGuard Manager SNMP event browser can display SNMP
traps from HP-UX ServiceGuard nodes. A new tool bar button launches
the browser and will alert you (by changing its icon) when new events
arrive.
From the event browser, you can set your node to be a trap destination
for messages. This command works when you open the Configuration
tab. You need to supply the Community Name, which functions like a
password, for each sending node. You may need to set up SNMP on the
nodes that you will send the messages. For instructions see online Help:
from Help’s Table of Contents, choose Troubleshooting: SNMP Problems.
In Version A.02.01, you can see VLAN information. Virtual LAN allows
ServiceGuard nodes to map multiple IP addresses to the same network
interface card. Node Properties will display all of the addresses.
In Version A.02.01, it will be easier to manage ServiceGuard Manager
log files, and event browser log files. If a configurable number of
messages are received in one session, that log file will close and a new
one will be started. Log files are timestamped. This will make it easier to
archive and delete files.
In Version A.02.01, you will never get a “no failover” warning for a
package that is configured to run on a single node.
