dts_pkg_dir
dts_pkg_dir is the package directory where
the force flag file is created. In CLX, force
flag file for all the packages is created under
the same directory as mentioned in the
ApplicationDir parameter. The force flag file
format in the Metrocluster is “FORCEFLAG”
whereas in CLX, it is
“<package_name>.forceflag”
-
CLUSTER_TYPE
Do not make any changes. Retain the
default value as “metro”.
SmisRequestTimeout
QUERY_TIMOUT
The default value for QUERY_TIMEOUT
Metrocluster parameter is 300 seconds.
Unsupported use cases
CLX 3PAR supports managing the replication group without packaging in a cluster. But, in HP Serviceguard
Metrocluster for Linux, the replication groups can be managed only by packaging it.
HP Serviceguard Metrocluster for P9000 does not support managing business copies.
Migration procedure
This section describes a step-by-step procedure to migrate a HP Cluster Extension Software on Linux to HP Serviceguard
Metrocluster on Linux. This procedure is applicable for P9000 and 3PAR storage arrays that use RHEL or SLE HA.
Use the following steps to migrate a CLX cluster to a Serviceguard Metrocluster:
1. Create a Serviceguard Metrocluster. For additional information about the Serviceguard Metrocluster, see creating the
cluster section in Building Disaster Recovery Serviceguard Solutions using Metrocluster with 3PAR Remote copy for
Linux manual at http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc.
2. Create a Metrocluster package template. For example, migrated_pkg.ascii. For more information about configuring
metrocluster packages section in Building Disaster Recovery Serviceguard Solutions Using Metrocluster with 3PAR
Remote Copy for Linux B.01.00.00 manual, see http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc.
3. To map the existing attribute values for 3PAR or P9000 or P6000, refer to Table 4 or Table 5 or Table 6 respectively.
In addition, see Appendix for worksheet template. Using this worksheet edit the package template (migrated_pkg).
The application and the disk that was part of the RHCS or SLE HA resource group must be part of corresponding
Serviceguard package.
4. Use cmapplyconfv P migrated_pkg.ascii to apply the newly mapped values.
A success message is thrown, if the configuration is successful.
5. Stop the RHCS CLX service or SLE HA CLX resource group. For additional information, see the respective native cluster
manuals.
6. Stop the RHCS or SLE HA cluster service.
7. Start the Serviceguard Metrocluster by using the cmruncl command.
8. Start the Serviceguard 3PAR or P9000 or P6000 packages by using the cmrunpkg clx_mc3par command where
clx_mc3par is the package name.
9. Delete the RHCS or SLE HA cluster service.
10. To view the migrated cluster status, run the cmviewcl command.
The following is a sample output:
CLUSTER STATUS
Metro1_cluster up
NODE STATUS STATE
Metro1 up running
PACKAGE STATUS STATE AUTO_RUN NODE
clx_mc3par up running enabled Metro1
