The HP Serviceguard Toolkit for SAP Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) and SAP Sybase
Replication Server on Linux (Sybase toolkit) allows you to integrate standalone (non-Replication
Server environment) SAP Sybase ASE database instances with HP Serviceguard cluster environment.
The Sybase toolkit enables standalone Sybase ASE server instances achieve high availability.
The Sybase toolkit also helps you to integrate SAP Sybase Replication Server instance and its
associated Disaster Recovery (DR) Agent with HP Serviceguard cluster environment.
The Sybase toolkit consists of a set of shell scripts used by the toolkit framework to start, stop, and
monitor health of the Sybase ASE server, Replication Server, and DR Agent.
What is in this version
This release of the Sybase toolkit includes support for:
• Deploying and managing standalone Sybase ASE instance in HP Serviceguard Linux (SG/LX)
environment.
• Deploying and managing the Sybase RS and DR Agent in HP SG/LX environment.
• Cluster verification.
• Alert notification through email.
• Online reconfiguration of the package attributes for Sybase ASE, Sybase RS, and DR Agent
modules.
• Health monitoring of Sybase ASE, Sybase RS, and DR Agent.
• Sybase toolkit support on RHEL 5.10, RHEL 6.5, and SLES 11 SP3.
NOTE:
• The Sybase toolkit supports only Serviceguard modular style packages.
• The Serviceguard Manager does not support configuring or managing the Sybase toolkit
package.
