HP Metrocluster with EMC (SRDF) Symmetrix Remote Data Facility for Linux is a High Availability
(HA) HP product that integrates Metrocluster with EMC Symmetrix storage systems.
Metrocluster with EMC SRDF for Linux is being released on the following Linux distributions:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 server or Advanced Platform
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 server or Advanced Platform
Metrocluster with EMC SRDF for Linux allows:
The application packages to automatically failover among local nodes that are attached to
the same EMC Symmetrix storage systems.
The application packages to failover automatically from one local node to another remote
node both of which are served by two separate EMC symmetric systems configured with SRDF
for data replication.
Metrocluster configurations are complex to configure and maintain. Hence HP recommends that
you use HP's high availability consulting services to ensure a smooth installation and configuration.
Contact your HP representative to inquire about high availability consulting. In addition, you should
work with your HP representative to ensure that you have the required firmware revisions for disk
drives, disk controllers, LAN controllers, and other hardware devices.
What’s in this version
Metrocluster/SRDF provides automated failover of Serviceguard packages on local and remote
EMC Symmetrix arrays that use SRDF. Before installing Metrocluster/SRDF B.01.00.00, you must
ensure that the Solutions Enabler versions 7.6.10 is installed on the system.
Metrocluster with EMC SRDF for Linux B.01.00.00 provides the following new features:
