HA to Primary and HA to Standby - Multiple ASE DB instances on the same node
The configuration shown in Figure 4 (page 15) is same as the configuration in Figure 3 (page 14).
The only difference is that the nodes at primary and standby sites are running multiple Sybase ASE
instances and their respective Replication Servers. The RS1-P and RS2-P are Replication Server
instances at the primary site, that are associated with ASE1-P and ASE2-P respectively. The RS1-S
and RS2-S are Replication Server instances at the secondary site, that are associated with ASE1-S
and ASE2-S respectively.
NOTE:
• Figure 3 (page 14) and Figure 4 (page 15) shows only two nodes in a cluster. The cluster can
contain two or more than two nodes.
• The pairing of RS to ASE is one-to-one and both must run on the same node.
• Serviceguard package for ASE instance is created by using SGeSAP and Serviceguard package
for RS/DRA is created using the Sybase toolkit.
• SAP NetWeaver is the basis for SAP solutions. For example, SAP Business Suite solution that
uses all key capabilities of SAP NetWeaver.
