Serviceguard Extension for SAP Versions B.04.02 and B.04.51 Release Notes
Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements
Chapter 118
Port Requirements
In principle, SGeSAP does not have specific port requirements. For ports that are generally
required by HP Serviceguard, please refer to the release notes of these products. SAP port
settings need to become available on all cluster nodes. In certain use cases, well-known ports
of secure shell or remote shell are utilized. For details, please refer to Managing Serviceguard
Extension for SAP, part number T2803-900011.
Installing Serviceguard Extension for SAP
Serviceguard Extension for SAP has to be installed on all nodes that will run an SAP
database or SAP instance package in the cluster.
Use swinstall(1m) to install Serviceguard Extension for SAP to a preliminary location.
Upgrades to SGeSAP 4.50 or reinstallation of SGeSAP 4.50 can require to halt the node first.
This is the case if the Automated Enqueue Replication is running with SGeSAP. The analysis
phase of the installer will give a notification if the node requires to be halted. The cmenqord
process must not run during installation. The cluster or EMS monitors that rely on Enqueue
Replication Resources might start this process automatically. Depending on the SAP
components that are to be clustered, additional integration steps will be needed to integrate
the product with your SAP environment before it can be activated. In order to use the SAP
Netweaver HA installation options, Serviceguard and SGeSAP need to be configured prior to
executing the SAP software installer. Please refer to the product manual for detailed
information.
Operation of SGeSAP requires Serviceguard and the Serviceguard NFS toolkit to be installed.
Refer to the Serviceguard Release Notes for any additional installation instructions and
requirements.
