The following sections explains the version B.05.10 for HP-UX 11i v3 changes in detail.
Cluster awareness for SAP startup framework
SAP system administrators can now stop and restart clustered Netweaver instances without
interacting with the cluster software explicitly. The SAP instance agents notify HP Serviceguard,
when a manual SAP instance startup or shutdown is triggered via any mechanism that utilizes the
SAP Netweaver 7 startup framework.
NOTE: Cluster awareness is only supported with modular-style packages on Integrity servers.
The SGeSAP software service monitors temporarily pause monitoring for instances that are manually
halted while the package is running. A list of these halted instances of the running package is
displayed in the alert list of the package as maintained by Serviceguard Manager.
Serviceguard cluster administrators can configure the package to block the instance stop attempts
of SAP system administrators for clustered instances. In this case, the instances can only be halted
via cluster package operations.
Easy Deployment scenarios for SAP landscapes through HP Serviceguard Manager
SGeSAP B.05.10 modular-style package creation can be done with an automated deployment
procedure via the HP Serviceguard Manager.
The SGeSAP easy package deployment allows the creation of one or more SAP cluster packages
in a simple configuration dialog of the HP Serviceguard Manager. It is only required to specify
which SAP system must be clustered. Knowledge about which cluster configuration settings need
to be specified to achieve this is not required. This package creation method is easier to use, but
less flexible than the guided package creation feature described later in this section.
SGeSAP easy package deployment must be used to create simple SAP cluster scenarios that include
a mix of clustered NFS, database, SAP Central Service, and SAP Enqueue Replication Service
components. Other components can be added manually after the initial deployment.
The feature is based on a discovery routine that detects SAP software systems that have database,
either SAP System Central Service or SAP Enqueue Replication Service components, or both installed
on any cluster node. If more than one SAP System is detected, Serviceguard Manager allows you
to select a target system from a list of discovered SAP systems.
