Serviceguard Extension for SAP Release Notes Version B.05.10, December 2012

It is recommended to create new packages as modular packages and plan to migrate existing
legacy packages. Legacy package support is planned to be discontinued in a future version of
SGeSAP.
NOTE: Modular packages are available for SAP Master Data Management version 7.10 (not
available for version 5.5).
Port Requirements
For ports that are generally required by HP Serviceguard, please refer to “Port Requirements”
section of the Serviceguard A.11.20 Release Notes. SAP port settings need to become available
on all cluster nodes. In certain use cases, well-known ports of secure shell or remote shell are

Installing
Serviceguard Extension for SAP has to be installed on all cluster nodes that will run an SGeSAP
package.
Use swinstall(1m) to install Serviceguard Extension for SAP. Install PHSS_40911 in order to
enable DB2 and Diagnostic Agent clustering. The legacy package script templates are installed
to a preliminary location. You manually integrate these templates as described in Managing
Serviceguard Extension for SAP manual. All modular package functionality is effective immediately,
with no additional staging steps required.
