1 Overview

About this Manual

This document describes how to configure and install highly available SAP systems on HP-UX 11i

v3 using Serviceguard. To understand this document, a knowledge of the basic Serviceguard

concepts and commands is required, in addition to experience in the Basis Components of SAP.

This manual consists of six chapters:

• Chapter 1—Overview

• Chapter 2—Designing SGeSAP Cluster Scenario

How to design a High Availability SAP Environment and cluster SAP components.

• Chapter 3—SGeSAP Cluster Administration

SGeSAP Administration, and use of different HP-UX platforms in a mixed cluster environment.

• Chapter 4—Planning the Storage Layout

Recommended high-available file system and shared storage layout for the SAP landscape

and database systems.

• Chapter 5—Step-by-Step Cluster Conversion

Installation of SGeSAP down to the HP-UX command level.

• Chapter 6—SAP Supply Chain Management

SAP SCM and liveCache technology, Storage Layout proposal, and SGeSAP cluster conversion.

• Chapter 7—SAP Master Data Management (MDM)

SAP MDM technology and SGeSAP cluster conversion.
