required details when asked by SAPINST. It is necessary to provide the
virtual hostname to any SCS instance related query.
NOTE A known issue may occur as the SCS tries to start the database during
finalization of the installation. Given that the database is not yet
installed this is not possible. For a solution refer to SAP Note 823742.
cd <DB_TMP_DIR>
<SAPINST_MASTER_DVD>/IM<X>_OS/SAPINST/UNIX/<OS>/sapinst \
<SAPINST_MASTER_DVD>/IM<X>_OS/SAPINST/UNIX/<OS>\

The SAP installer should now be starting.
Follow the instructions of the database installation process and provide
required details when asked by SAPINST. It is necessary to provide the
virtual hostname to any DB instance related query. After installing the
RDBMS software, SAPINST needs to be resumed and after finalizing the
installation the SAP database setup is complete. Install the latest
database patches.
Make sure that the Java Central Instance JC00 gets installed on the
host where it is meant to be run afterwards. No SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME
parameter needs to get passed to SAPINST. The SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME
environment variable needs to be unset in case it got defined before.
cd <COMPONENT_TMP_DIR>
<SAPINST_MASTER_DVD>/IM<X>_OS/SAPINST/UNIX/<OS>SAPINST \
<SAPINST_MASTER_DVD>/IM<X>_OS/SAPINST/UNIX/<OS>\
product_ha.catalog
The SAP installer should now be starting. Follow the instructions of the
Java Central Instance installation process. Java dialog instances get
installed in the same fashion.
