Database Configuration
Chapter 3 191
Use the following commands to catalog the database for both local and
remote access. The commands need to be executed as db2<dbsid> and on
all nodes that can run the DB2 database package.
First clear the catalog entries with:
db2 uncatalog database <db-alias>
db2 uncatalog node <nodename>
Then catalog the DB2 database locally:
db2 catalog database <DBSID> as <DBSID>L on /db2/<DBSID>
and catalog remote (secondary) node:
db2 catalog tcpip node NODE<DBSID> remote\
<reloc_database_name> server sapdb2<DBSID>
catalog database on remote node:
db2 catalog database <DBSID>L as <DBSID> at node
\NODE<DBSID> authentication SERVER_ENCRYPT
Given below is a sample configuration for a <DBSID> = EC2 and
<reloc_database_name> = reloc105 on node1:
node1:db2ec2 >db2 list node directory
Node Directory
Number of entries in the directory = 1
Node 1 entry:
Node name = NODEEC2
Comment =
Directory entry type = LOCAL
Protocol = TCPIP
Hostname = reloc105
Service name = sapdb2EC2
node1:db2ec2 > db2 list database directory
System Database Directory
Number of entries in the directory = 2
