Serviceguard Configuration for Oracle 9i RAC
Creating a Storage Infrastructure with CFS
Chapter 3 129
Creating a Storage Infrastructure with CFS
The following are example steps for creating a storage infrastructure for
CFS.
Creating a SGeRAC Cluster with CFS 4.1 for Oracle 9i
The following software needs to be pre-installed in order to use this
configuration:
• SGeRAC and CFS are included with the HP Serviceguard Storage
Management Suite bundle T2777BA or Mission Critical Operating
Environment (MCOE) T2797BA.
• CFS is included with the following bundles: (SGeRAC needs to be
installed separately)
— T2776BA HP Serviceguard Cluster File System for Oracle
(SGCFSO)
— T2775BA HP Serviceguard Cluster File System (SGCFS).
Refer to the HP Serviceguard Storage Management Suite Version A.01.00
Release Notes.
In the following example, both the Oracle software and datafiles reside
on CFS. There is a single Oracle home. The following three CFS file
systems are created for Oracle home, Oracle datafiles, and SRVM data:
/cfs/mnt1 – for Oracle Base and Home
/cfs/mnt2 – for Oracle datafiles
/cfs/cfssrvm - for SRVM data
Initializing the VERITAS Volume Manager
Use the following steps to create a two node SGeRAC cluster with CFS
and Oracle:
1. Initialize the VERITAS Volume Manager
If not already done, install the VxVM license key on all nodes. Use
the following command:
# vxinstall
