Effective September 2011, SGeRAC A.11.20 will be available bundled with HP-UX 11i v3 High
Availability Operating Environment (HA-OE) and Data Center Operating Environment (DC-OE)
September 2011 Update as an optional bundle media. Please note that performing a rolling
upgrade from a Serviceguard only cluster with Serviceguard version A.11.19 and earlier version
of OE to a Serviceguard and SGeRAC version A.11.20 with HP-UX 11i v3 September 2011 OE

Beginning with Serviceguard A.11.20 Patch PHSS_42137, Live Application Detach (LAD) will be
supported in SGeRAC A.11.20 environment if Oracle Cluster Ready Services (CRS) are not running.
Using the -d option with cmhaltcl (or cmhaltnode) command on a node in an SGeRAC cluster
where CRS are running will return an error message and the cmhaltcl (or cmhaltnode) command
is aborted.
SGeRAC (formerly known as Serviceguard OPS Edition or MC/LockManager) is a specialized
facility that provides the framework for using Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) software on
HP 9000 and HP Integrity servers.
This section announces the most important features and limitations of Serviceguard Extension for
RAC (SGeRAC) A.11.20. For more information, see “What’s in this Version” (page 10).
NOTE: SG/SGeRAC A.11.20 is not available for HP-UX 11i v2. SG/SGeRAC A.11.19 is the
last release for HP-UX 11i v2.
SGeRAC Version and Components: Product Numbers
The following SGeRAC version A.11.20 and components are available with the following product
numbers for HP-UX 11i v3:

• CVM/CFS 5.0.1:
◦ Product T8687DB (HAOE) and T8697DB (DCOE)—A.11.20—documentation, software,
and license.
• CVM/CFS 5.1 SP1:
◦ Product T8687EB (HAOE) and T8697EB (DCOE)—A.11.20—documentation, software,
and license.
Because configurations for SGeRAC may be complex to configure and maintain, HP strongly
recommends that you use HP high-availability consulting services to ensure a smooth installation
and rollout. Contact your HP representative for more information. You should also work with your
HP representative to ensure that you have the latest firmware revisions for disk drives, disk controllers,
LAN controllers, and other hardware.
Dependencies and Limitations
In Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.2, using HAIP feature, Oracle allows to use a subnet for
Oracle Clusterware (CSS-HB) and RAC interconnect (RAC-IC) communication which is not configured
in SGeRAC cluster. So beginning with Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.2 version,
