What’s in this Version
The A.11.16 version of Serviceguard Extension for RAC is a release that
supports the use of the HP-UX 11i v1 and HP-UX 11i v2 operating
system. Version A.11.16 permits a maximum of 16 HP 9000 Series 800
nodes configured as a high availability cluster. Support for both HP 9000
servers and Integrity servers on HP-UX 11i v2 September 2004. Multiple
Oracle databases on the same node are supported.
Starting with version A.11.15, Serviceguard Extension for RAC is
decoupled from Serviceguard. Therefore, Serviceguard A.11.16 must be
installed as a prerequisite product for SGeRAC A.11.16. In addition,
Serviceguard Extension for RAC A.11.16 can be installed on top of
HP-UX Mission Critical operating environment (OE). It is not necessary
to uninstall Serviceguard filesets before installing SGeRAC.
If the version of Serviceguard in the Mission Critical Operating
Environment is not A.11.16, you must first updgrade to Serviceguard
A.11.16.
The features of Serviceguard Version A.11.16 are supported, and the
same limitations apply. The A.11.16 version of Serviceguard Extension
for RAC provides the following additional features and restrictions:
• Support for Serviceguard Extension for Faster Failover
• Support for Rolling Upgrade
• DB Provider for Monitoring of RAC Instances
• Support for HP-UX 11i v1 on HP 9000 servers
• Support for HP-UX 11i v2 on HP 9000 servers and HP Integrity
servers
• Support for Oracle 9i RAC and Oracle 10g RAC
• Support for Faster Detection of Crashed Oracle Processes
• Online node configuration is not supported when shared LVM
(SLVM) volume groups are activated.
• Serviceguard Extension for RAC does not Support Mixed Clusters.
All cluster nodes must be either HP 9000 servers or Integrity
servers, but not both in the same cluster.
