Version Numbering
Serviceguard Extension for RAC releases use a version numbering
scheme that helps you identify the characteristics of the release.
Different parts of the version string are incremented, as follows, to show
particular types of change from a previous version of the product:

Field.
Example:

A long-lived level
of the core product
feature set.
When significant new functions
and/or features are added to the
core product which require
bringing the entire cluster down in
order to install the new version.

Field.
Example:
A.11.16.xx
A customer-visible
replacement of an
existing feature.
When a significant change is made
that requires all nodes to roll
forward to the same version level
before a cmapplyconf can succeed.
Documentation set
is revised if
necessary. New
Release Notes are
issued.
Third
Numeric
Field.
Example:
A.11.16.01
An extension to an
existing feature, a
change not visible
to customers, or a
particular patch
or fix level.
When defect repairs and small
enhancements are made.

is not revised.

not issued unless
there is a
compelling reason,
such as the
appearance of the
product on a new
hardware
platform.
