Sample configuration prerequisites
In the sample configuration, the following prerequisites apply:
Software
• HP-UX 11i v3 1003 High Availability Operating Environment (HAOE) or later
(Oracle RAC 11g R2 is not supported on HP-UX 11i v2)
• Serviceguard version A.11.19 (SG A.11.19)
• Serviceguard Extension for RAC version A.11.19 (SGeRAC A.11.19)
• HP Serviceguard Management Suites (SG SMS) bundle A.03.00
• Oracle Clusterware (OC) and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) 11g release 2
The following patches should be installed from
http://itresourcecenter.hp.com/
• PHSS_40794 (SG A.11.19 patch) or later
• PHSS_40886 (SGeRAC A.11.19 patch) or later
• PHSS_40228 (SG CFS A.11.19 patch) or later
Note: PHSS_40228 belongs to bundle 7 of SG SMS A.03.00.

Server hardware requirement
• One 2-node cluster for CVM/CFS
Network requirements
• Public—Ethernet with two redundant NICs for primary and standby
– OC requires at least one and up to three IP addresses for Cluster SCAN.
– OC requires one VIP address per node.
– VIPs and SCAN IPs must be currently unused.
– VIPs and SCAN IPs must be resolvable, preferably in DNS.
– HA is provided by SG local LAN failover.
• Private—Ethernet with redundant NICs for primary and standby
– All private cluster communications flow through the private network.
– HA is provided by SG local LAN failover.
– Private IP address and private network name must be configured in /etc/hosts file on each node.
Storage requirements
Each node has internal storage for OC and RAC binaries. OC Home requires 5 GB disk space, and
Oracle RAC Database binary requires 8.2 GB of disk space. In addition, 1 GB of disk space is
required for a
/tmp directory.
