Serviceguard first tries to use the toolkit.sh script in the configuration directory. If this script is
not found in the configuration directory, it takes them from the installation directory.
NOTE: EBS APPS Tier accesses Oracle database instance through a 'hostname'. Therefore you
need to add entries for the relocatable IP-addresses of both, the APPS and the database package,
to the /etc/hosts file on the nodes used for running EBS.
SGeEBS package configuration examples
Configuring single EBS APPS tier node
Figure 3 Configuring single EBS APPS tier node
The SGeEBS APPS Tier Package can be configured in a single APPS Tier node configuration.
Figure 3 (page 10) shows the single EBS APPS tier node configuration in a two-node cluster. Node1
has EBS DB tier package up and running, and Node2 has SGeEBS APPS Tier Package up and
running. EBS DB Tier data and EBS APPS Tier data are managed on two separate volume groups
between two nodes of the cluster.
EBS DB Tier is packaged using the ECMT Oracle Toolkit and EBS APPS Tier is packaged using the
SGeEBS Toolkit. In a single EBS APPS Tier node configuration, all EBS APPS Tier processes will be
configured to run in a single node. If there is a failure in any one of the EBS APPS Tier processes,
SGeEBS APPS Tier Package is failed over to the alternative node and all EBS APPS Tier processes
is started on alternative node.
If EBS DB Tier package runs in the same cluster, and if it is failed over or recycled or restarted,
you can restart the SGeEBS APPS Tier package by setting the dependency type to “any_node”
and dependency condition to UP in SGeEBS APPS Tier package on EBS DB Tier package. If EBS
DB Tier package is running in different cluster, or if it is not packaged, then you must manually
restart the SGeEBS APPS Tier package whenever EBS DB Tier package/EBS DB Tier is recycled
or restarted. This restart procedure is to avoid data inconsistency that may occur when you restart
the EBS DB Tier.
