Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit Version B.04.00 Release Notes, 3rd Edition, July 2008 (T1909-90064)
binaries have a sticky bit set, causing all oracle
processes to be started by user ‘oracle’.
-rwsr-s--x 1 oracle dba 77703728 Jun 20
2004 oracle*-rwsr-s--x 1 oracle dba 77703728
Jan 17 2004 oracleO*
If the ORACLE_ADMIN is set to any user other
than ‘oracle’, haoracle.mon cannot locate that
user's processes because user ‘oracle’ launched
them. This results in an immediate shutdown of
the package after starting it.
Resolution: The problem can be resolved by
changing all occurrences of the ps -u to ps U in
the monitoring script, haoracle.mon. The
option -u for ps command assigns “effective
user” whereas the option -U assigns the “real
user”.

Error in the Apachectl Script
• What is the problem? There is a defect in the script /opt/hpws/apache/bin/
apachectl. The string $HTTP $ARGVdoes not work.
• What is the workaround? Edit apachectl to replace $HTTP $ARGV with $HTTP
$@, on versions A.1.0.0.10 and older of HP Apache (that is, all HP Apache versions
released prior to January 2004). This is not required for HP Apache versions 2.0.48
or later.
