Support for Serviceguard A.11.20
Starting with this release, Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA supports HP
Serviceguard A.11.20. All configuration restrictions that apply to HP Serviceguard also
apply to Metrocluster.
IMPORTANT:
• Live Application Detach feature is not supported in SADTA environment.
• Serviceguard Package Maintenance mode is not supported for Site Controller
packages and the packages managed by the Site Controller package.
• In a Metrocluster environment, the cmeval tool cannot be used to evaluate the
replication status, and the changes to the environment file. In SADTA, the cmeval
tool cannot be used to evaluate the Site Controller package operations.
• Online package re-configuration of Site Controller module parameters is not
supported.
Manual Site Switching
Starting with this release, Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA supports a new
Serviceguard failover policy: site_preferred_manual, introduced in HP Serviceguard
Version A.11.20. This failover policy prevents automatic failover of a package across
SITEs. This failover policy can be used for Site Controller packages and failover packages
configured in a Metrocluster with sites defined in the Serviceguard cluster configuration
file.

IMPORTANT: Manual Site Switching feature is supported only with HP Serviceguard
Version A.11.20, only when the patch PHSS_41225 or later is installed.
Support for Oracle RAC ASM
Starting with this version, Oracle RAC database using Automatic Storage Management
(ASM) can be configured in Metrocluster for RAC.
