NOTE: The Package Easy Deployment feature and the cmpreparestg command,
which is used for creating the shared storage for packages, are not supported when
HPVM guest is configured as a Metrocluster node.
Features Introduced in A.05.01
The A.05.01 version of Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA supports the following
features:
• Support for HP-UX 11i v2 and HP-UX 11i v3
• “Support for HP Integrity Virtual Machines 4.2 or Later” (page 8)
• “Support for Serviceguard A.11.20” (page 9)
• “Manual Site Switching” (page 9)
• “Support for Oracle RAC ASM ” (page 9)
• “Support for Oracle 11gR2” (page 10)
• “Support for Cluster-wide Device Special Files” (page 10)
• NOTE: The following Continuous Access EVA features are not supported with
Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA version A.05.01: Autosuspend on Full
Copy, Failsafe Mode Enable, and Storage Management Appliance (SMA).
Support for HP Integrity Virtual Machines 4.2 or Later
Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA version A.05.01 includes support for HP
Integrity Virtual Machines version 4.2 or later. All Serviceguard-related restrictions and
guidelines for supporting HP Integrity Virtual Machines version 4.2 or later are also
applicable for Metrocluster configurations.
Following are a few additional guidelines for Metrocluster configurations:
• To migrate the HP Virtual Machine guest online, use the hpvmsg_move command.
• Metrocluster does not support online VM guest migration when the source node and
the target node are in different sites. Metrocluster supports online guest migration
only when the source node and the target node are in the same site.
