Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA Version A.05.01 Release Notes, April 2011 (5900-1486)
Support for Modular CFS Packages
With Metrocluster Data Replication Enabler Toolkit A.10.00 patch PHSS_41656, you
can optionally combine all the CVM diskgroups and the CFS mountpoints required by
an application that is managed by Site Aware Disaster Tolerant Architecture (SADTA)
into a single package. As a result, the number of packages in the cluster reduces and
manageability of Serviceguard configuration improves. This feature requires Serviceguard
A.11.20 April 2011 patch PHSS_41628 and SG-CFS A.11.20 patch PHSS_41674 or
later. It works only on Serviceguard version A.11.20, and is available only on HP-UX
11i v3.

Support for HP Integrity Virtual Machines as Serviceguard Nodes
Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA A.05.01 includes support for HP Integrity
Virtual Machines (HPVM) as Serviceguard Nodes model. In the virtual machines (VMs)
as Serviceguard Nodes model, HP-UX VM guests are used as actual Serviceguard cluster
nodes to provide the same HA failover capabilities found in traditional Serviceguard
cluster configurations.
In Metrocluster with Continuous Access EVA environment, HPVM guests can be configured
as Metrocluster nodes. The procedure to create the Data Replication (DR) group for HPVM
guests is same as how it is created for the physical hosts. Once the DR group disks are
presented to the VM host, the evainfo tool must be run on the VM hosts to identify the
disks that are part of the DR group. If the VM guest is already created, then present these
disks to the VM guests using hpvmmodify command. If the VM guest is not yet created,
then present these disks to the VM guest while creating the VM guest using the
hpvmcreate command.
To verify if the same DR group disks have been presented to the VM guests, use the
scsimgr command to get the World Wide Name (WWN) identifier of the disk in the
VM guest and compare it with the WWN identifier in the VM host.
NOTE: The evainfo utility does not work on HPVM guests.
HPVM 4.2 or later can be used to configure HPVM guests as Metrocluster with Continuous
Access EVA nodes.

Machines, September 2010 white paper available at http://www.hp.com/go/
